the quick facts:
the long story:
i am first and foremost a follower of Christ. i don't believe in limiting my music to one genre, so while i am technically a "Christian artist", most of my songs would be considered secular or mainstream. i firmly believe God is in every word and chord i write regardless of the category it's placed in.
i was born and raised in greenville, nc. at age 3, i picked up a violin for the first time and i haven't put it down since. i was mostly classically trained, but pick things up easily by ear, so i've played just about any style there is to play! i still teach violin and play professionally through freelance gigs and being a session artist. most recently, i was a part of a project with yancey arias which you can listen to here.
around age 12, i began playing guitar. i completed my undergraduate degree in chapel hill, studying psychology and exercise/sport science while minoring in music. all of my applied studies were focused in jazz guitar, which has had a huge influence on my writing process. i took a stop in raleigh, which is where my songs really started to come out of me, before settling for a little while here in greensboro. in january of 2019, i posted "more than i should" on youtube, the first song that i had ever shared with everyone. since then, i have released many more songs on youtube and am finishing up production of a professional recording of "you won't". i have a full album tracked out and have hopes of getting it recorded in the coming year.
my purpose always remains the same. use music to be honest. use music to learn about myself. use music to connect with other people. i hope you'll join me along the way...
